Meat-Vegetable Casserole
(Labor Day)
1 lb. cubed pork
1 lb. cubed beef
2 med. onions, chopped
1 tbsp. butter
1 bunch carrots, cooked
1 c. celery, cooked
1 can peas
3 tbsp. flour
Seasonings to taste
Chow mein noodles
Brown first 3 ingredients in butter; add enough water to cover.
Cook until tender. Add vegetables.
Moisten flour with small amount of pan liquid; return to remaining liquid.
Add seasonings. Sprinkle with noodles.
Pour into 2 1/2 quart casserole.
Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
Yield: 5-6 servings.
